The Ministry of Health of Ukraine notes: the main clinical signs of coronavirus include shortness of breath, fever, as well as cough, sore throat, chills and shortness of breath. If these symptoms occur, you should see a doctor.
Is quarantine a vacation?
Many people perceive quarantine as a vacation without really changing their usual lifestyle. It is not right. Firstly, quarantine requires minimizing communication with other people, even if they are completely healthy. Secondly, a long life within four walls disrupts the usual way of life and, first of all, affects our diet. How many times during the day or night do you go to the refrigerator?
Doctor-gastroenterologist of the medical center “ON Clinic Kharkov” Dmitry Orlenko says:
“It is necessary to adhere to a balanced and proper diet both during the quarantine period and after it. Diversify your menu not only with buckwheat, but also with other cereals (rice, legumes, oatmeal), fish, fermented milk products, fruits and vegetables. And, of course, keep an eye on the expiration date of the purchased products. “
Quarantine knocks down the time of breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a doctor, I advise you to develop not only a daily regimen, but also provide for the optimal time for meals (eat 4-5 times a day in small portions). Try not to use snacks, chips, and sweets as a snack. Use a healthy alternative: nuts, fruits, dried fruits, dark chocolate.
Eating right doesn’t mean eating too much or often. This means that the food must be fortified with vitamins and minerals, as well as proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
Quarantine & daily routine
I do not recommend the temptation to “sleep” in the morning. Morning time can be used for the benefit of the mind and body: do exercises, do yoga or meditation, pump up your abs or buttocks. Summer is coming and quarantine is a great opportunity to get in shape. I also advise you to avoid long night gatherings in front of the TV. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time. If you stick to this rhythm, going to work after quarantine won’t feel like hell.
Lesya Tretyakova, therapist of the ON Clinic Poltava medical center, notes:
“Before the quarantine, many complained about the lack of time for sports. The time has come to carry out our plans. To avoid injury, choose exercises according to your strength, gradually increasing the load. Sport strengthens the immune system. You can add a contrast shower, which improves metabolism, relieves stress, gives vigor. “
Quarantine is not a time for walking?
Self-isolation is not a reason to give up outdoor walks. Walking is a must, but avoid crowded places. Choose deserted places and breathe fresh air for at least half an hour a day. Oxygen improves digestion, activates the brain, saturates cells with oxygen, normalizes blood pressure and strengthens the immune system.
Quarantine & Mask
The World Health Organization claims that coronavirus disease is a treatable disease. You can get sick with COVID-19 at any time of the year, but in cold weather there are much more cases of infection, however, as well as other respiratory infections. To protect yourself, you need to wash your hands more often (or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer) and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. Hands need to be disinfected before handling food, before eating, and after using the toilet.
The mask does not protect against infection. A healthy person should only wear it when:
- provides assistance or contacts with an infected person;
- sneezes or coughs.
If you do not feel unwell or feeling unwell, you do not need to wear a mask. Before handling the mask, use an antiseptic or wash your hands with soap and water. You need to wear a mask so that it covers your nose and does not leave the lower part of the face open. You need to remove it with elastic bands, without touching the front (front) part.
Quarantine & cleaning
It is unnecessary to scavenge your home in the hope of avoiding infection with the coronavirus. There are no special requirements for cleaning during a pandemic. Nevertheless, do not be lazy to keep order and cleanliness in the house. Clean regularly surfaces that you touch frequently (for example, clean doorknobs and even phones, clean kitchens and bathrooms). To do this, use special detergents and water. Also, take care of the cleanliness of the sleeping area and eating areas. Excessive sterility is just as harmful as its absence.
